Our Team

The Luxembourg office is part of Eversheds Sutherland’s wider Benelux offering, which also includes our teams in Brussels and the Netherlands. As a fast-growing and ambitious practice, the Benelux team advises clients on both domestic and international matters, working closely with colleagues across the global Eversheds Sutherland network.

Our lawyers in the Benelux are active in a range of key practice areas, including Employment & Pensions, M&A, Banking & Finance, Tax, Corporate Notarial Services, Litigation, Real Estate & Planning, and Data, Privacy & Technology. Together, we serve clients across sectors such as energy, financial services, life sciences, and technology.

Due to our continued growth, we are recruiting an Associate to join our Tax team in Luxembourg.

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to work directly with one of our Partners, Rafael Moll de Alba, who is recognised for his deep expertise in tax structuring for investment funds, corporations and private clients. Rafael also advises on merger and acquisition transactions, finance transactions, and tax reporting compliance matters (such as CRS, FATCA and DAC 6).

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will work closely with Rafael and two other team members on a broad range of tax matters.

Our dynamic tax team has built its reputation on a strong practice in corporate M&A and restructuring, investment management, fintech, and the tax planning aspects of international holding and financing structures. Our focus is helping clients achieve their objectives in a tax-efficient manner, in full compliance with the latest Luxembourg and EU tax developments.

You will be involved in tax advisory projects for both national and international clients, identifying tax issues in light of recent developments. The role includes close collaboration with other practice areas and international offices, as well as direct client and advisor contact.

Skills and Experience

We are looking for candidates who:

- Have at least a four-year university degree in law, economics, accounting or finance, ideally with a tax specialisation.

- Have between 1 to 5 years of experience in tax in a law firm, accounting firm or financial services company in Luxembourg.

- Have professional proficiency in English and French. Knowledge of German, Luxembourgish, Spanish or any other language will be considered an asset.

- Are team players who value a collegial working environment. You are organised, flexible, proactive, and ambitious.

- Excellent progression opportunities due to our dynamic growth in a vibrant team

- Work with exciting and varied international clients from the outset

- Regular training and further development in our international offices

- A partner will be assigned as your mentor to help shape and support your career path

- Opportunities to collaborate globally, including potential secondments to international offices

- A culture that promotes cooperation, diversity, and professional development
