You’ll be instrumental in shaping and delivering strategic initiatives that support the growth and evolution of our Corporate Finance practice, while also contributing to the firm’s broader international strategy.

 

Our team

  • The Corporate Finance team is a dynamic and high-performing group advising on complex domestic and cross-border transactions. The team works with a diverse client base, including major corporates, financial institutions and private equity houses, delivering strategic legal advice across corporate, financing and restructuring.
  • This role will work closely with the International Head of Corporate Finance and their leadership team to support strategic planning, performance analysis and growth initiatives. You’ll also collaborate with colleagues across the wider International firm, including Finance, HR, IT, Marketing, Knowledge and Resourcing, as well as liaising with US counterparts to ensure global alignment.

 

Role and key responsibilities

Working closely with the Chief Strategy & Communications Officer and the Corporate Finance team, you will:

  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the Corporate Finance team, including growth, client targeting and service innovation.
  • Benchmark performance, identify opportunities and assess risks using market intelligence tools and platforms.
  • Identify and then create compelling business cases for strategic market-led opportunities and new initiatives
  • Work closely with lateral hires to ensure embedded within the Corporate Finance, and wider, team
  • Work alongside our market-leading sector leads to ensure Corporate Finance is providing best in class sector support
  • Lead research and analysis on market trends, client demand, and competitive positioning within the corporate finance and transactional legal services space.
  • Prepare high-impact briefing documents, reports, and presentations for senior stakeholders, including the Executive and practice group leaders.
  • Build strong relationships across the Corporate Finance team and wider firm to ensure alignment and buy-in for strategic initiatives.
  • Collaborate with Finance, HR, IT, Marketing, Knowledge and resourcing teams to ensure strategic initiatives are well-supported and effectively delivered.
  • Liaise with US colleagues to ensure alignment on cross-border strategy and business development opportunities.
  • Track progress against strategic goals and provide regular updates to the Chief Strategy & Communications Officer and Corporate Finance leadership team.

 

Skills and experience

We are looking for:

  • Proven experience in strategy development within professional services, legal, or consulting environments.
  • Strong understanding of corporate finance, M&A, financing, restructuring and transactional legal services.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and deliver actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage senior stakeholders.
  • Experience working in a large, international organisation with cultural sensitivity and cross-border collaboration.
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver to tight deadlines.
  • Hands-on approach to working with the leadership team
