Role and key responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Paralegal to join our team.  Our dynamic team of fund distribution and regulatory professionals provides expert advice on and supports cross border registration, compliance, marketing and investment projects across the globe.  The fund registration and passporting function is viewed as business critical by many of our clients, particularly given the importance of providing a registration service within a robust governance structure that protects the integrity of firms as viewed by regulators, competitors and clients. The successful candidate will report into a Legal Director and Head of Financial Services.

 

Duties are likely to include:

  • Registering/passporting funds in Europe and worldwide.
  •  Coordinating regulatory filings including updated fund documentation and KIDs/KIIDs with regulators within regulatory deadlines
  • Being the day-to-day contact for clients, foreign lawyers, translators and other service providers
  • Reviewing and amending fund documentation for accuracy
  • Drafting standard letters, preparing forms and checklists to various parties
  • Creating and maintaining status reports and tools
  • Preparing estimates, invoices and billing narratives and maintaining billing records
  • Conducting regular relationship meetings with key clients, creating agendas and taking minutes as appropriate
  • Creating and maintaining new sites on the FS+ websites; administering access; training clients.

 

Skills and experience

We are looking for:

  • Experience of Paralegal work, ideally in a financial services, projects or litigation setting
  • Ambitious work ethic and professional disposition
  • Ability to develop strong and trusting relationships with both internal and external clients swiftly and effectively
  • Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills to clearly articulate sophisticated concepts, ideas and processes
  • Strong team player, collaborative and cooperative approach to tasks
  • Disciplined, strong organisation and project management skills
  • highly proficient in Excel and MS application skills
  • International investment fund registration experience would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of the regulatory and corporate environment for UCITS / AIFMD funds would be beneficial
  • A legal or compliance background is an advantage
