Our Team

Our Corporate Insurance team handles a full range of work for our insurance clients from more business as usual work to complex, cross-border M&A, joint ventures, and other corporate work. We also advise our insurance clients on a range of commercial agreements, regulatory issues (including conduct, prudential and governance related issues), and product work. In addition, we have a leading reputation for advising on pension risk transfers.

We are also working on an increasing number of related matters for large Insurance clients, some of which are novel and innovative. Our clients are involved in all sectors and aspects of the insurance market, and include some of the best known names in the market. We leverage our global platform, we work very closely, in particular, with our US colleagues, and our work tends to be largely multi-jurisdictional. We are also committed to ensuring that we offer real value for money to our clients, and that is one of our unique selling points.

Role and key responsibilities

We are looking for an Associate/Senior associate, ideally between 3 – 7 PQE, to join our leading corporate insurance practice. This practice has gone from strength to strength over the past few years, and we anticipate further growth during the course of 2026. Our ambition is to establish ourselves as the top law firm corporate insurance practice on both sides of the Atlantic. This is a great opportunity to be part of that growth story and to make a meaningful and lasting contribution.  

The role will suit driven, ambitious and confident candidates with demonstrable skills within the Corporate Insurance space who also want to develop and thrive within an exciting and internationally focused team. This could include M&A work, advising on reorganisations, joint ventures, start-ups as well as commercial and regulatory matters in the Insurance sector. The successful candidate will also get the chance to work on insurance products, such as warranty & indemnity as well as credit insurance, becoming a true expert in this sector.

You will be required to contribute proactively and enthusiastically to business development activity with the internal and external market and you will also be expected to develop close working relationships with appropriate office contacts throughout the business, both nationally and internationally.

Skills and experience

We are looking for candidates with a deep interest in, and knowledge of the Insurance Market who have:

• 3-7 years of Post Qualified Experience, ideally primarily focussed on the Corporate Insurance sector (with experience of M&A, joint ventures and collaborations in the sector).
• A strong interest and enthusiasm for the sector, likely to be focussed on Insurance and Financial Services clients
• The ability to deal with the competing demands of clients which arise from involvement in a number of separate transactions at once and have the ability to work flexibly to tight deadlines
• An ability to demonstrate the delivery of excellent client care. Due to the nature of the work in this role, drive, enthusiasm and ability to work well as part of a team are vital
• An ability to build great relationships, both with clients and with colleagues you work with in other practice groups and ideally will have some experience of supporting junior colleagues
• At a Senior Associate level, we would be looking for experience of coaching/supervising and mentoring of more junior lawyers
