Role and key responsibilities
As the Workplace Compliance Coordinator, your primary responsibility is to support the Workplace Compliance function in maintaining regulatory and operational standards across Eversheds Sutherland’s UK and international offices. You will play a key role in ensuring continuity of service following recent team changes, with a particular focus on Physical Security, Business Continuity, and ISO compliance.
Working closely with the Workplace Compliance Manager and other stakeholders, you will help coordinate audits, manage documentation, and monitor compliance activities to uphold the firm’s strategic objectives and legal obligations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Physical Security & ISO 27001 Support
Assist in the coordination of physical security audits across offices, contributing to the firm’s global ISO 27001 certification efforts. Maintain records, follow up on actions, and support implementation of security controls.
- Business Continuity & Risk Compliance
Support the development and maintenance of business continuity plans. Track risk mitigation actions and ensure documentation is up to date and aligned with ISO 9001 standards.
- Health & Safety Coordination
Collaborate with the Health & Safety team to ensure compliance with EHSMS requirements. Help organise audits, track recommendations, and support implementation across sites.
- Supplier & Contractor Compliance
Assist in onboarding processes for new suppliers and contractors, ensuring documentation and permits are in place before work begins. Monitor compliance with safety and security protocols.
- Governance & Reporting
Coordinate regular EHS calls, first aider meetings, and compliance committee sessions. Prepare agendas, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
- Information Security Collaboration
Work with IT and other departments to support corrective action plans and risk assessments related to information security. Participate in cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment with data protection and GDPR requirements.
Daily/Weekly/Monthly Tasks:
- Maintain and update compliance documentation, including audit logs, SOPs, and version control.
- Track and report on compliance metrics and outstanding actions.
- Support internal and external audit preparation and follow-up.
- Assist in identifying gaps in compliance processes and propose corrective actions.
- Help facilitate team communications, including weekly updates and 1:1 check-ins.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and operational resilience.
Skills and experience
- Experience in workplace compliance, facilities, or risk management.
- Familiarity with ISO standards (27001, 9001) and Health & Safety regulations.
- Strong organisational and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams and manage multiple priorities.
