Our team 

This role leads our experienced hire Recruitment team. This is a hybrid role, with a current requirement of working 3 days on site supporting our UK offices.

Role and key responsibilities
The Senior Recruitment Manager will manage the Experienced hire recruitment team of five. The Experienced Hire recruitment team delivers hiring for lawyers and business services professionals across the UK.


The key focus of this role will be to oversee the end to end recruitment process for Lawyers and Business Services roles and lead on practice group recruitment, as well as supporting improvements to achieve a best in class hiring experience for both candidates and the firm.

It sits within the HR function, and works closely with all recruiting team members and all HR team members 

 

To be successful in this role, you will be an experienced Legal Recruitment professional with a proven track record in liaising with and influencing senior stakeholders.  You will be a proven manager of people and have a positive outlook with an empathetic and commercial approach, be able to successfully navigate between detailed information and strategic projects whilst managing multiple stakeholders and initiatives.

 

The role reports to the International Head of Recruitment 

 

Key responsibilities:
•    Oversee the end to end recruitment process to hire Experienced hire lawyers and Business Services Professionals to the firm
•    Lead on Practice Group Recruitment and where required other senior/specialist hires. 
•    Oversee and manage the day-to-day operational delivery of the Experienced hire team
•    Engage with all relevant stakeholders for each hire ensuring they are updated and informed along the way
•    Engage with the European and International Experienced hire teams
•    Delivering a high touch candidate experience and ensure they have a best in class experience
•    Optimise and deliver the Direct sourcing strategy
•    Deliver market maps of potential talent pools and provide insight and intel on talent pools and regional talent landscapes
•    Manage search firms and recruitment firms to engage with and ensure we get access to the best diverse talent
•    Ensure the recruitment process supports and promote the firm’s Inclusive Hiring Plan throughout the hiring cycle
•    Build and maintain local market knowledge and publicly-available information regarding competitor activity
•    Management of the relationship of key suppliers to the Recruitment team as well responsibility for the systems and products they supply
•    Be a strategic partner to our stakeholders and influence them
•    Identify opportunities to improve the way we hire at the experienced hire level and support the implementation
•    Help position the firm as an employer of choice and articulate our sell
•    Manage and support on team and department wide strategic projects
•    Support the implementation of a best in class selection and assessment process using new and improved methods of assessment
•    Ensure we have robust and meaningful feedback that is stored effectively for each hire and candidate
•    Provide regular and accurate data and reporting
•    Provide regulate updates and information sharing for HRLT and HRBP’s
•    Ensure PGH’s and Senior stakeholders are updated accordingly on their active hiring
•    Prepare materials and documentation needed for the process all the way to offer
•    Create and monitor the annual recruitment budget

 

Key competencies:

  • Previous experience within legal recruitment preferably in-house at a law firm or within Professional Services essential
  • People management experience required
  • Knowledge and understanding of key Recruitment processes
  • Capability to translate the business strategy and people strategy to deliver success for the firm.
  • Excellent influencing, communication and personal impact skills that will ensure success and command instant credibility at senior levels of the firm.  
  • Politically savvy and able to negotiate their way through multiple stakeholders relationships. 
  • Able to manage multiple projects and priorities, with enhanced attention to detail and the ability to create solutions to support the Partnership.
  • Proactive, innovative and willing to challenge, with the confidence to take the initiative. 
  • Strong client focus and highly motivated to provide excellent advice and deliver results. 
  • Excellent decision making and problem solving abilities with the resilience and agility to be flexible. 
  • Well-developed commercial acumen, with the ability to contribute to both the wider business and HR agenda. 
  • Lively and energetic with a positive outlook and a practical can-do mentality. 
     

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

•    Passion for what you do
•    Professional approach and experience of dealing with senior stakeholders
•    Excellent knowledge of hiring lawyers to a law firm highly desired
•    Being confident to deliver a best in class experience for stakeholders and candidates 
•    Ability to motivate, coach and lead a busy recruitment team
•    Strong communication skills essential
•    Strength in presenting work and information through PowerPoint, excel and word
•    Innovative thinking and an interest in Gen AI and tech desired
•    Able to work on own and be a self starter to get things done and moving and equally as part of a wider team 
•    Prepared to actively manage work as well as lead a team
•    Able to get work done quickly and effectively, but also with the right level of quality 
•    Able to manage multiple requests in a proactive way
•    Consistently positive attitude and ‘can do’ approach
•    Confident, resilient, tenacious, hardworking
•    You will likely be educated to degree level, have a keen interest in people as well as a background in a professional services recruitment role.
•    You will have the credibility and gravitas to influence and engage at senior levels.
