Our team
The Eversheds Sutherland Business Development and Marketing team is a collaborative, international, and client-focused group that values innovation and commercial thinking. We work closely with partners and fee earners to support the firm’s global growth strategy, with sectors at the heart of our approach. Our priority sectors include Consumer, Industrials, Government & Infrastructure, Energy, Financial Services, Health & Lifesciences, and Technology Media & Telecoms.
This global role is responsible for driving client and business development across both the Industrials and Health & Life Sciences sectors. It combines strategic insight, market positioning, and client engagement to support the firm’s ambition to be a global leader in these dynamic and evolving industries. The Industrials sector comprises manufacturing and industrial engineering, aerospace, defense & security, automotive and chemicals. The Health & Life Sciences sector includes pharmaceuticals, biotech, medtech, healthcare providers, and digital health innovators.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Market Development
- Lead the development of sector strategies that reflect global trends, client needs, and emerging opportunities across both Industrials and Health & Life Sciences.
- Collaborate with lead Partners to shape service offerings, products, and marketing initiatives that resonate with clients and differentiate the firm.
- Act as a subject matter expert on the firm’s global capabilities in both sectors, engaging with international teams to support cross-border collaboration and growth.
- Deliver actionable client and market plans that integrate insights from practice areas (e.g., regulatory, IP, M&A, litigation, employment) to ensure a cohesive and impactful approach.
Client Engagement & Growth
- Work with the Senior Client Development Manager within both sectors to sector to identify client needs and tailor offerings to reflect what clients want from us
- Manage the pipeline of pitch opportunities, providing strategic input and helping teams make informed go/no-go decisions.
- Support globalization of the client base through internal cross-selling, gap analysis, and alignment with key client programmes.
Campaigns & Market Positioning
- Design and deliver integrated campaigns that address sector-specific challenges and opportunities, such as consumer trust, ESG, digital health, and regulatory change.
- Ensure campaigns are globally relevant and measurable, enabling continuous improvement and learning.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to amplify sector visibility and thought leadership across channels.
Stakeholder & Team Management
- Work closely with the International Heads of Industrials and Health & Life Sciences to deliver the three-year strategy for growth and investment.
- Line manage a manager, fostering a high-performance culture and collaborative team environment.
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in either the Industrials or Health & Life Sciences sectors, ideally within a professional services or legal environment.
- Strategic thinker with a passion for market trends and client engagement.
- Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across global teams.
