Role and key responsibilities

  • Build strong relationships with partners and practice group leaders, acting as their go-to pricing advisor.
  • Prepare financial and pricing responses for client RFP submissions and other client pitch materials, ensuring alignment with client needs and firm objectives.
  • Collaborate with partners, the pitch team, and business groups to develop and review pricing strategies, including client rate agreements and alternative fee arrangements.
  • Serve as a key pricing contact, providing expert support and guidance to practice groups and sectors across the firm.
  • Assist partners in understanding and leveraging financial and pricing levers within their respective areas to drive profitability and value.
  • Undertake financial modelling and scenario analysis to support informed pricing decisions and commercial negotiations.
  • Support the pricing, bid, and matter lifecycle, including participation in client-facing fee negotiations and meetings.
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of firm-wide pricing policies, ensuring compliance and best practice adoption.
  • Conduct post-completion reviews to assess matter profitability and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Produce and interpret financial information and analysis for departments, partners, and fee earners, supporting data-driven decision-making.
  • Deliver and create training materials for the Partnership and other functions to share pricing best practices and enhance commercial awareness.
  • Provide ad hoc project support as required, contributing to the success of pricing-related initiatives and firm-wide projects.
  • Support the development and delivery of pricing-related projects, driving innovation and continuous improvement in pricing approaches.
  • Ensure effective communication and collaboration with lawyers, business services, and cross-functional teams, both locally and internationally.
  • Demonstrate strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Uphold the firm’s values of diversity, inclusion, and collaboration, contributing to a positive and supportive workplace culture.

 

Skills and experience

We are looking for:

  • Proven pricing experience, ideally in the Legal sector
  • Commercial mindset with a focus on profitability and client value.
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Proven impact on pricing outcomes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Inquisitive, innovative and problem solver
  • Ability to build strong relationships with Finance/Internal and external clients.
  • Good negotiation and persuasion skills
  • Offers new ideas and share’s experience to maximise cash flow across the business.
  • Identify risks and escalate accordingly

 

Desirable

  • Accountancy qualifications
  • Legal sector experience
