Our Team
The Eversheds Sutherland Business Development and Marketing team is a collaborative, international, and client-focused group that values innovation and commercial thinking. We work closely with partners and fee earners to support the firm’s global growth strategy, with sectors at the heart of our approach. Our priority sectors include Consumer, Industrials, Government & Infrastructure, Energy, Financial Services, Health & Lifesciences, and Technology Media & Telecoms.
This role focuses on the Consumer sector, which includes food & beverage, retail and leisure, and luxury goods. It’s a dynamic and evolving market, offering a great opportunity to contribute to the firm’s strategic growth in this space.
Role Overview
As a Manager, you will support the development and execution of client and market strategies across the Consumer sector. Working closely with the Senior Marketing Manager and sector partners and the wider marketing team, you’ll help drive client engagement, campaign delivery, and market positioning initiatives. This role has global reach, but with a focus on practical delivery and stakeholder collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
Strategy & Planning
- Support the development of sector strategy by identifying market trends and client needs.
- Collaborate with partners to shape service offerings and marketing initiatives that align with sector priorities.
- Assist in creating actionable client and market plans, integrating insights from practice groups and jurisdictions.
Client Development
- Work with the sector Client Development Team to ensure that client development and our campaigns are aligned with the needs of our key clients, and ensure all campaigns, content and events have a client-centric focus and are tailored to engage our key stakeholders in those clients.
- Support pipeline client relationships and identify growth opportunities, coordinate cross-selling initiatives, and identify gaps in service coverage across the client base.
- Manage capability statements and informal pitches within the sector.
Campaigns & Market Positioning
- Plan and deliver targeted campaigns for the different sub-sectors, as well as the overarching sector campaign strategy.
- Collaborate with content, digital, and events teams to ensure campaigns are well-executed and measurable.
- Ensure marketing materials and activities reflect the firm’s global capabilities and sector expertise.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Build strong relationships with sector partners and fee earners to support business development efforts.
- Act as a point of contact for the Consumer sector marketing activity, ensuring alignment with firmwide priorities.
Team Collaboration
- Work closely with other sector marketers and practice group teams to share insights and coordinate efforts.
- Support junior team members and contribute to a positive, high-performing team culture.
Skills & Experience
- Experience in a business development or marketing role, ideally in a professional services environment.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Commercial awareness and understanding of how legal services support industrial clients.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing stakeholders at senior levels bringing across multiple locations.
- A collaborative mindset and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Experience working in an international business environment is highly desirable.
