About Konexo, part of Eversheds-Sutherland

You’ll be joining Konexo, part of Eversheds Sutherland, a global law firm delivering innovative, commercial solutions to clients. In this role, you’ll sit within the Commercial Finance team, supporting both UK Practice Groups and the firm’s international offices.

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Director, you’ll work as part of a wider finance team across the UK and internationally, providing support specifically to the Konexo Practice Group.

Main Purpose of the Role

As Commercial Finance Manager, you’ll work closely with the Head of the practice group and the group’s management team to ensure robust financial management, drive performance improvement, and provide high-quality finance business partnering.

You’ll oversee the work of analysts and coordinate contributions from other areas of finance, including Financial Control and Working Capital management. You’ll also work with the Firmwide Financial Planning & Analysis team to help you understand the group’s performance in the context of the wider firm.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Be a key member of the Konexo leadership team, helping deliver the group’s strategic vision and supporting the three-year profitability plan

  • Take ownership of reporting, analysis, and commentary on the group’s financial performance for management and practice group meetings

  • Lead monthly financial performance reviews with the practice group head and management team, setting agendas and performance improvement plans

  • Coordinate budgeting, planning, forecasting, and target setting for the practice group

  • Identify areas of under- or over-performance within the group and recommend actions to address root causes

  • Drive process and reporting efficiencies, ensuring reporting evolves with business needs

  • Research peer performance and implement changes relative to internal and external benchmarks

  • Provide commercial finance support to the practice group head, partners, and fee earners, including new business case development, pitch support, and recruitment proposals

  • Build strong trusted advisor relationships with partners and leadership

  • Understand financial control and statutory reporting requirements, including legal entity recharges and reviewing statutory accounts within the group

  • Support the development of a part-qualified finance analyst

 

What You Bring

  • You will hold an accountancy qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA, or international equivalent) with post-qualification experience, ideally in a professional or financial services environment

  • You have experience influencing and implementing business strategies and initiatives

  • You think strategically and understand how effective financial management supports business plans

  • You act as a trusted finance partner and advisor in a results-driven environment

  • You communicate clearly and confidently, producing insightful financial and commercial commentary under tight deadlines

  • You are highly skilled in management information systems, including Excel, and use these tools effectively for reporting

  • You are highly organised and able to prioritise work and delegate tasks across the team as needed

  • You engage confidently with colleagues at all levels, delivering both high-level analysis and detailed financial work

  • You have experience leading teams of qualified professionals and analysts

  • You take a customer-centric approach, understanding challenges from the perspective of business leaders

  • You are reliable, enthusiastic, and demonstrate a proactive “can-do” attitude

  • You have strong commercial awareness and can understand complex and diverse business requirements

  • You are comfortable working in a dynamic environment with ambiguity and changing demands
