We are Eversheds Sutherland, a global law firm, with more than 5,000 people across over 30 countries. We’re full-service with deep niche and sector experience. What to expect

For business professionals, our environment is highly collaborative with value being placed on diversity of ideas, skills and mindsets, not least yours. It’s energetic, fast-moving and there’s always something new to get involved in. You will get exposure across geographies and the firm as a whole.

About the team:

Our Employment team includes over 220 qualified lawyers across our global office network. A key differentiator of the practice is that a significant part of our work is stand-alone employment work, not linked to corporate activity. Providing a co-ordinated service across all jurisdictions including board level strategic advice as well as day-to-day HR related support, we have experience of advising a wide range of organizations, from blue-chip FTSE and Fortune 500 companies to start-ups and owner-managed businesses.

Our US Employee Benefits group is ranked in Chambers USA whilst our UK Employment teams have the most areas and individuals ranked in band 1 across both Chambers and Legal 500. In total we have over 40 partners ranked across our international offices in Chambers Global, Europe and Asia-Pacific guides.

The team undertakes contentious and non-contentious works for both national and international clients. Works include mergers & acquisitions, advisory cases, corporate support and advocacy. We also handle over 1,000 Employment Tribunal claims a year.

About the role:

We are recruiting for a Paralegal to support the Cambridge employment team. You will be responsible for co-ordinating service to major multi-national employment clients involving regular helpline queries in multiple jurisdictions, supporting the management of small and large cross-border projects and being involved in regular reporting and horizon-scanning activities for these clients as well as liaising with our international offices and manage the administrative, reporting side of projects including billing activities.

You will also provide holiday cover and overflow support for other Paralegals in the team handling UK employment litigation work and some data subject access request work.  So while the role is predominantly non-contentious international helpline and project support there will be an opportunity to undertake contentious employment work.

Skills and experience:

A law degree and/or LPC (or equivalent qualifications)
A basic understanding of employment law and/or project management experience would be an advantage, but is not essential.

Key competencies:

You will be organised, efficient and able to adhere to processes. You will need to be confident with computers, have excellent communication skills and work effectively, both as an individual and as part of a team.
