The Role: 
The PR team at Eversheds Sutherland helps shape how the firm’s brand and its legal services are communicated. The team collaborates with the firm’s lawyers to share commercial, regulatory and legal insights across a wide range of topical issues – on everything from the impact of AI regulation and employment trends, to climate litigation and the major legal developments driving the world’s global economy.

You’ll play a key supporting role in the day-to-day running of a busy press office – gaining valuable experience in how reputational and brand building public relations work from the inside. 


This exciting entry-level role offers a front-row seat to how a top-tier firm manages its media presence – an ideal launchpad for recent graduates or those making their next career move into PR, media relations and communications. 

 

 

Key responsibilities
Supporting the PR team by:

  • Tracking daily media coverage (print, online, broadcast). 
  • Maintaining media contact and distribution lists and monitoring journalist movements. 
  • Managing media trackers, compiling reports, and supporting the wider PR team on reactive and proactive media opportunities.   
  • Coordinating logistics for interviews, media meetings and awards. 
  • Liaising with media suppliers and supporting day-to-day press office admin. 
  • Publishing internal and external comms content across the firm’s channels  
  • Writing short-form copy for internal news and media briefings. 
  • Creating social media content for earned media coverage. 
  • Supporting on proof reading, formatting, and quality control to maintain PR best practice.  
  • Acting as the team researcher – conducting desk research on specified topics and staying abreast of the news agenda.
  • Assisting with timelines and logistics for PR campaigns and press activity across borders or multi-practice initiatives
  • Keeping your finger on the pulse – spotting opportunities for media comment. 

  
Skills and experience
We are looking for:

  • Organisation: Juggle multiple deadlines, stakeholders, and projects with ease. 
  • Strong Communicator: Polished writing, confident verbal skills, and a sharp eye for detail. 
  • Proactive Mindset: Think ahead, spot trends, and work autonomously. 
  • Media & News Fan: A natural interest in current affairs, media trends, and reputation management.
  • Tech Confidence: Comfortable with MS Office, Gen-AI (Microsoft Co-Pilot), and the willingness to be trained on media monitoring tools, CRM platforms, and digital collaboration (Teams, SharePoint). 
  • Team Spirit: A supportive, collaborative approach – ready to jump in wherever needed. 
  • Discreet & Professional: Trusted to handle sensitive information with care. 
  • Curiosity: An understanding of the professional services world is helpful – but enthusiasm to learn is even better. 

 

We will support you with a comprehensive programme of internal and external training, covering the firm’s PR and communications processes, including the use of GenAI for your role.
