Role and key responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Azure & Infrastructure Manager to join our team and help us design, implement, and maintain cloud solutions using Azure services and tools. You will be responsible for managing and optimizing Azure resources, deploying and configuring cloud infrastructure, automating workflows and processes, and ensuring security and compliance standards. Additionally, you will lead a team of IT professionals, providing guidance and support to achieve project and career goals.

 

  • Provide Level 3 support across the breadth of Azure services, including but not limited to Azure IAAS, PAAS, Terraform, Containers, Subscription and Tenant management, DevOps, FinOps and Security.
  • Automate workflows and processes using Logic Apps, Azure Functions, or other tools
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Cloud performance, availability, and reliability issues.
  • Ensure security and compliance standards are met using Azure policies, roles, and permissions.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for Azure infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-efficiency. This includes designing disaster recovery solutions, automating deployments using Azure DevOps, and optimizing costs through the use of Azure Cost Management tools.
  • Lead and manage a team of IT professionals, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements, ensuring we are ‘always audit ready. 
  • Implement security best practices.
  • Experience of managing on-premises Hyper-V or VMware Infrastructure
  • Deep understand of all Windows operating systems.

 

Team Management Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership and coaching team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews, set clear goals and expectations, and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Identify training needs and opportunities for professional development, ensuring the team stays up-to-date with the latest technologies and best practices.
  • Manage resource allocation and workload distribution to ensure efficient project execution and timely delivery of tasks.
  • Facilitate effective communication within the team and with other departments, ensuring alignment and collaboration on projects and initiatives.
  • Participate in the recruitment and onboarding process for new team members, ensuring a smooth transition and integration into the team.

 

Skills and Experience:

  • Significant and demonstrable experience in Azure administration or engineering. 
  • Extensive hands-on knowledge of Azure services and features
  • Experience in using Azure DevOps, GitHub, or other tools for version control 
  • Familiarity with cloud security best practices and tools, such as Azure Security Centre or Azure Key Vault.
  • Ideally have certification in Azure Administrator Associate, Azure Developer Associate, or Azure Solutions Architect Expert In-depth knowledge of Terraform, FinOps, Azure modernization, and security best practices.
  • Understanding of GPO and Intune policies.
  • A self-driven individual with a passion for delivering value to the firm.
  • The ability to identify, take ownership of, and lead efforts to overcome technical challenges.
  • Familiarity with project delivery cycles and frameworks.
  • An understanding of Quality.
  • A desire to learn more about new and existing products
