You will be working with an Award winning pensions team which is one of the few practices in Ireland with a Band One ranking for pensions from Chambers Europe.

 

You will be also working with one of the strongest and most highly regarded pension practices. Eversheds Sutherland’s pensions team has grown into a market leading force – both in the UK and across Europe. Most recently, as part of the FT Pension and Investment Provider Awards, the team won the “Twenty Years of Excellence” award, was highly commended in the “Pensions Law Firm of the Year” award category and won the European Pension Lawyers of the year 2020. This recognises the consistent long term presence of the team as go to pensions advisors.

Role and key responsibilities

 

You’ll be advising on some of the highest profile work for some of the largest pension schemes and their company sponsors.

 

You will be involved in leading edge work in the area of master trusts, pension regulation and pension risk transfer and buy outs, working with some of the top pension lawyers in Ireland, and the UK. The role is to work under the supervision of the pension partners on our team in all aspects of pensions law.

 

The practice is strongly commercial and you will be expected to work on commercial agreements and pension change documents, provide advice to both trustees and corporates, and to regulatory bodies and master trust providers.

 

Skills and experience

 

We are looking for:

 

  • 0-4 post qualification experience (PQE) within a respected law firm or in-house legal team
  • Strong interest in pensions law and familiarity with Irish pensions regulation and master trusts is desirable
  • Ability to work on commercial agreements and pension change documents, advising both trustees and corporates
  • Understanding of how pensions law intersects with corporate, regulatory, and employment matters
  • Comfort working in a cross-jurisdictional team and contributing to shared goals
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills, especially when explaining complex pensions issues to clients
